President of the Czech Constitutional Court delivered a speech in Chisinau

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova together with the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe had organized International Conference entitled "Evolution of Constitutional Control in Europe: lessons learned and new challenges", which was held in Chisinau on 2 and 3 March 2017.

President Pavel Rychetský talked about the independence of a constitutional court as the main prerequisite for the efficiency of its mission and demonstrated his views on the well-developed case-law of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. He stressed that the formal marks of independency should not replace the material aspects thereof nor - in particular – the individual independency of a judge.
